Common questions

Is the price per user or per organization?
Per user, per month, billed annually. The Free plan is forever free for one user. Starter and Business include unlimited e-signatures for that user — invite teammates by adding seats. Enterprise is custom-priced (volume discounts and consolidated billing).
What happens when I hit the 5-document limit on the free plan?
Your existing documents stay accessible — they keep tracking views and signatures. You just can't SEND new ones until your monthly counter resets (the 1st of each calendar month) or you upgrade to Starter. Documents don't carry over between months.
Do I need a credit card to start?
No. The Free plan and the Starter / Business 14-day trial both start without a card. We ask for payment when the trial ends or when you actively choose to upgrade.
Are e-signatures legally binding?
Yes — under the US ESIGN Act, UETA (49 states), and eIDAS Basic Electronic Signature in the EU. Every signature carries a tamper-evident, hash-chained audit trail with timestamps, IPs, devices, and consent records, archived for 7 years in compliance-mode storage. Your signed PDFs include a Certificate of Completion citing the relevant statutes — admissible as evidence of valid execution.
Do recipients need a ZSign account to sign?
No. Recipients get a link and can sign directly in their browser. No account, no app install.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yep. Cancel from your settings page and you keep access through the end of your billing period. No hoops.
What payment methods do you accept?
Credit cards, debit cards, and PayPal. If you're on an annual plan, we can do invoice billing too.
Is there a limit on the number of signers per document?
Nope. Add as many signers as you need, on any plan.
Can I migrate from DocuSign or PandaDoc?
Yes. You can upload existing PDFs, recreate templates in the editor, and import contacts via CSV. If you need help migrating, email support@getzsign.com and we’ll walk you through it.
